Save a Life

Our Adoption Ambassador program, generously supported by the ASPCA, gives Lawrence Humane Society adoptable animals the comfort and exposure of being in a foster home with the added bonus of access to LHS resources to help find their forever homes.  Adoption Ambassador Volunteers team up with with us to care for and market their fostered animals, who would otherwise reside on our adoption floor.

How it Works

What separates this program from other foster programs is that our volunteers are trained to independently process adoptions out in the community.  This means that the volunteer facilitates introductions with the animal, completes all adoption paperwork, and collects any fees associated with the adoption.

Becoming an Adoption Ambassador is free of charge to the volunteer. Lawrence Humane Society pays for all necessary food, medical treatment, supplies, and training.
