Client Care Associate (full-time):

Client Care Associates at the Lawrence Humane Society work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment helping homeless animals. We are seeking compassionate, responsible people for FULL TIME schedules–MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS. Duties include assisting customers, data entry, and money handling. Must have excellent customer service skills. We are a progressive organization that saves thousands of cats, dogs, and small mammals a year. Apply in person at the Lawrence Humane Society, located at 1805 E. 19th St., north of the Douglas County 4H Fairgrounds. Please no phone calls or emails.

Required: 
1. High School Diploma or completion of G.E.D. equivalency
2. No allergies to animals or chemical cleaning agents
3. Willingness to assist/perform euthanasia of animals, administer injections & medications
4. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management, co-workers, and customers 
5. Experience in an office setting and working with basic office equipment (multi-line phones, computers, copiers, fax machines, Windows-based software) 
6. Proven ability to work independently; self motivated and task oriented 
7. Strong customer service skills

Preferred: 
1. Experience in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or kennel field 
2. Experience working for a non-profit organization 
3. Knowledge of Google Applications
4. Knowledge of basic animal handling, behavior and health
5. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field 

Physical Demands & Work Environment: Work is performed in a kennel environment with regular exposure to high noise levels, chemical cleaning agents, animal dander, and wet floors. Susceptibility to the elements when working outdoors. Exposure to potentially aggressive and dangerous animals and animal bites and scratches. Work requires walking, standing, bending, scrubbing, and reaching up to 10 hours a day, plus moving/walking dogs and lifting up to 40 pounds without assistance. Daily duties require reading and following instructions; using a computer workstation; wearing a portable radio and headset.

We are a progressive organization that saves thousands of cats, dogs, and small mammals a year.
