The Fur Ball is one of the longest running (and largest) fundraising events for the Lawrence Humane Society. Enjoy a lovely evening full of exciting auction items, delicious food, great drinks, and camaraderie. In 2023, we are hoping to raise more than $200,000 to support the life-saving and life-changing work we do every day for the pets and people in our community. The generosity of care and support from community members like you helps us provide for the thousands of animals that enter our shelter every year.
What should I wear?
We encourage cocktail attire for the evening! A nice dress, dressy blouse + pants, suit & tie or khakis and a button-up are all welcome.
Do I need to print my tickets?
Nope! The only thing you’ll need for check-in is your first and last name, your email address, and a credit card to put on file if you’d like to bid on items.

What does check-in look like?
When you arrive to Lawrence Arts Center, please come into the main entrance. There will be someone to usher you in and direct you to the check-in table. You will tell the volunteers what your name is. At that point, we will add a card on file for the evening and send you a “magic link” to get signed in so you can start bidding on silent auction items, purchase any raffle tickets or Lawrence Humane merchandise for the evening
What’s for dinner?
Chef TK and Emily from Merchants Pub + Plate will be catering our dinner. Drinks include a variety of beer, wine, soft drinks, bottled water, and a signature cocktail.
I unfortunately can’t attend anymore – what should I do?
We’ll miss you at the event but would be thrilled to have your participation and support. You are still welcome to bid online on items in the silent auction from the comfort of your home, choose one of the options listed above, or simply donate.
