2026 Mullie Classic Golf Tournament

It’s always a great day to play golf and support the animals of Lawrence Humane! 🥳⛳️  Although it rained over 3 inches early in the morning before the tournament, the skies quickly cleared after and the Lawrence Country Club’s excellent drainage system (and maintenance crew!!) worked hard to provide us with a beautiful day of golf. We had a whopping 25 teams and over 100 golfers join us for a fun-filled day of gorgeous golf, great drinks, delicious food, and joyous camaraderie.

This year was a particularly poignant event as it was the first Mullie Classic since its namesake, Mulligan (Mullie) Martin, passed away last fall. We are so thankful to all who helped us honor her legacy of unbridled joy, playful silliness, and advocating for shelter animals!

And not only did we have an AMAZING time, but this year’s Mullie Classic raised $30,100 – a new record!!! 🎉🎉🎉  Every single dollar raised will go towards the care of the 7,500+ animals Lawrence Humane serves every year. And we are so, so grateful to all of our incredible sponsors, everyone who registered a team, and for every single raffle and putting contest ticket purchased! Miss Mullie would be so proud!

📸: A huge thank you to our amazing in-house photographer, Shannon Wells, Executive Director at Lawrence Humane for snaggin’ all these delightful photos of the day!

The Mullie Classic was inspired by Mulligan, a puppy that arrived at Lawrence Humane with a severely broken jaw. We were able to get her the specialty surgery she needed in order for her jaw to heal and she lived a wonderful life helping advocate for all her friends at Lawrence Humane!

And while Mullie was our first puppy with a broken jaw, she was not the last! Since then we’ve also had Koko and Georgia – both two-month old puppies – come to Lawrence Humane with broken jaws. Events like the Mullie Classic help us raise the money we need to serve ALL of the animals who come through our doors, no matter how severe or challenging their situations might be. And we are so, so grateful to everyone in our community who contributes, participates, and attends our events! YOU are the reason that we can help dogs like Mullie, Koko, Georgia, and all of their pals!
